Fragrant plants

Almost all of these open after dark. That is not a coincidence — the scent is aimed at night-flying moths, and everything we like about it is a side effect of that. One mogra in a six-inch pot will perfume an entire balcony; a chameli trained up a rail will do the same for a terrace. They are all full-sun plants, all outdoor or balcony, and all of them stop flowering if they dry out repeatedly, because they flower on new growth. If you want scent indoors, put one by an open window rather than inside the room — they will not flower away from direct sun.
